  • Paid Public Holidays: Employees covered by the Employment Act are entitled to 11 paid public holidays annually (see list above).
  • Substituting Public Holidays: Employers and employees can mutually agree to swap a public holiday for another working day.

    • Employees working on a public holiday are entitled to an extra day’s salary at their basic rate of pay, in addition to their regular pay for that day.

      • Non-workmen earning more than SGD 2,600 a month.
